ET: To the chairman of the Union. My attendance is not possible. I am very sorry. May I ask you to convey my sincerest greetings to my esteemed co-directors and to the assembled brothers? Hitherto the Union has been exceptionally blessed. May the good favor of our God accompany her in the year to come as well.

Aan den Voorzitter der Unie. Overkomst is mij onmogelijk. Dit is mij zeer leed. Mag ik u verzoeken aan mijne geachte medebestuurders en aan de vergaderde broederen mijnen hartelijken groet te willen overbrengen. Dusver was de Unie zeldzaam gezegend.
